Bottom line
The examination of the head ends with the destruction of the sample. Bodies and records indicate long-ago deaths of the inhabitants, but the film does not provide a complete reconstruction of the causes and fate of each. The decapitated Engineer is included in this dossier.

"Prometheus": records of ancient events discovered in 2093. The date of discovery is not the date of their life. The illustration shows the production of the Engineers sequence, not the finished hologram. Sources: movies, deleted scenes and Alien: Isolation; comics and other games are not included.
